FANCY-DRESSED employees at a London Colney supermarket came to the rescue of a local charity last week.
As part of a fundraising bag pack, fun-loving staff at Sainsbury's dressed up as their favourite superheroes last Friday to raise money for The Base, a youth centre based in London Colney which provides young people aged 11-19 with a range of activities.
Deputy Sainsbury's store manager Stuart Priest presented The Base with a cheque for just over �86 on Friday, which will help the centre buy its young people a Nintendo Wii in time for Christmas.
Stuart said that he was happy to help: "Our store is at the heart of the local community and it is important that we can do as much as we can to support it. When we heard about The Base's desire to entertain its young people with a Wii, we were really pleased to offer our assistance.
