A summer fair at Oaklands College in St Albans attracted around 8,000 visitors for sheep racing, donkey rides and more.
The fair was held at the college’s St Albans Campus in Hatfield Road on Sunday, June 10. Each college department hosted different activities, with visitors playing traditional wooden games, shooting hoops with Oaklands Basketball Sports Academy and taking selfies in a student-built car.
There was also a funfair, falconry displays and puppet shows, with the hospitality and catering department serving wood fire pizzas and barbecue treats, and the agricultural students overseeing sheep racing and shearing. Entertainment was provided by the music and performing arts department.
Oaklands principal Zoe Hancock said: “The Summer Fair is the biggest event in our calendar and it’s one we look forward to. To see so many people enjoying the day and experiencing the College makes it all worthwhile.”
