A French bulldog who was stolen from a hotel car park has been reunited with her owners in St Albans after three months.

Roxy, who is one year old, was taken from a white Ford transit van in the car park of the Noke Thistle Hotel in Watford Road on Wednesday, January 23, after one of the windows was smashed.

The van's owner explained that Roxy belonged to his 10-year-old daughter, and made a heartfelt plea for her safe return, saying "any kind of theft is wrong, but to steal off a child is disgraceful".

Roxy was tracked down by Thames Valley Police in Slough on Tuesday, April 30, during a routine enquiry.

St Albans Neighbourhood Sgt Paul Caro said: "The family were so surprised, but overjoyed to see Roxy after such a long time. The owner's young daughter was especially thrilled to see her beloved dog.

"She had been well looked after and was in good health, having been checked over by a vet at the weekend."

Thames Valley Police are continuing enquiries into the theft.
