Still time to sign up for this year's Herts 10K

With just one week to go until the Herts 10K time is running out for people to register for this year's event.
The popular event, which takes place on Sunday, October 12, at Rothamsted Research in Harpenden, is the single biggest fundraising event for Grove House Hospice and has raised more than £1 million since it started in 2006.
Organisers are expecting the event to sell out for a third year running, so runners are urged to register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Grove House events manager Ruth Proudfoot said: “It is clear from the thousands of runners who have already registered to take part in the run that the event and the charity play an important part in the local community.”
She added: “There are many runners who are taking part because they or a family member have benefited from the support of the charity.
“Each and every one of them has their own moving stories to tell about how the nurses have provided care and support, often at some of the darkest times in their lives.
“As well as runners who have a personal connection to the charity there are the same number again who are taking part simply because they want to support us.”
Everyone who enters, whether they run or walk across the finish line, will receive a medal and can expect to receive lots of support from locals out on the route cheering on the competitors.
The event, which costs £17 to enter, takes place at 10am at Rothamsted Research in Harpenden. It is open to anyone over the age of 12 and entrants are encouraged to gain sponsorship for the event.
All the m oney raised will help support people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses in the local area through a range of services provided by the charity either at Grove House or in patients’ homes.
