THERE'S still time for companies large and small to get involved in this year's Archant Hertfordshire Business Awards - with the deadline extended by a week to October 9.

The awards, now in their 13th year, recognise individuals and firms who have made a significant impact on business in the county over the past 12 months.

The 2009 winners will be announced at a glitzy awards dinner at Knebworth House in November, to be hosted by TV presenter and Strictly Come Dancing star Bill Turnbull.

Last week saw a special networking event at Sopwell House to encourage more entrants and create business platforms in local areas. Host the Federation of Small Businesses and Chris Philpott from Large Business of the Year 2008 winner Aecom helped guests come away with a better understanding of the awards process.

There are a total of 13 categories for businesses to submit their nominations. For a full list of categories visit the awards website at www.hertsad24.co.uk/businessawards
