A charity which is raising money to revamp the play area in Verulamium Park has been included in a Starbucks Christmas campaign.

Verulamium at Play will be Starbucks St Albans’ charity during their #CheerForGood campaign during the run-up to Christmas. TV star Phil Gallagher, aka Mister Maker from CBeebies, appeared at the coffee shop to help launch the campaign last week.

Starbucks has already pledged £500 to the cause, and the charity is asking members of the public to take part in a social media campaign to help raised a further £2,000.

The charity is asking people to retweet them using the hashtags #CheerForGood and #CheerForPlay, to share their ‘neighbourly’ page (a social media platform for local projects) on Facebook.

They have also set
up a JustGiving page to try to match Starbucks’ pledge, and are asking residents to run and fundraise for them in the St Albans Half Marathon next summer.
