STARBUCKS has applied to turn a former restaurant in St Albans into a coffee house.
A planning application was submitted by the coffee giant to St Albans District Council last week, to use the Little Chef restaurant by the roundabout on the North Orbital Road, just outside Chiswell Green.
The company is planning to open next month and employ 14 staff from the nearby area. It would be the second Starbucks in the city joining the shop in High Street.
A Starbucks spokesperson said: "We're really excited to be opening a new Starbucks coffee house in Chiswell Green and are looking forward to becoming part of the local community.
