ST ALBANS: Opening hours for the Verulamium Park splash park have been extended following the lifting of water restrictions by Veolia.
Limited opening hours had been in operation at the splash park in the St Albans park since May when the facility was opened for the summer but it is now open everyday from 10am to 6pm.
The district council’s portfolio holder for leisure, Cllr Mike Wakely, said: “The opening hours for the splash park are now back to normal just in time for the school holidays.
“The splash park is extremely popular, so once the water restrictions were lifted we extended the opening hours. All we need now is less rain so that everyone can fully enjoy the facility.”
The splash park, which replaced the original paddling pool, uses water fountains and spray jets to provide a safe environment for children aged 12 and under.
