LIONS, zebras and an enthusiastic meerkat were seen toddling across Verulamium Park in St Albans earlier this month, all in the name of charity.

The colourful collection of animals large and small were actually toddlers taking part in Barnardo’s Big Toddle.

Around 20 under-fives and their parents took part in the short sponsored walk across the park. The money they raised, which is still being counted, will be used to support Barnardo’s Early Years work - a range of projects in the UK that support children with physical and learning disabilities, autism and behavioural problems.
