Little entrepreneur Max Elliott is so desperate for a sibling he has come up with an ingenious way to help his mum and dad pay for IVF treatment.

Max’s parents, Amanda and Ross Elliott, are unable to conceive naturally and in a bid to expand their family want to undergo IVF treatment for the second time.

And to help them reach the £7,000 needed to pay for the procedure, their imaginative three-year-old has offered to flog his special stones which he decorates to look like dinosaur eggs.

Amanda, of New Greens, St Albans, said: “We were sat on the sofa racking our brains. Max obviously listens and he takes things in and we were saying what can we sell and he was playing with his dinosaurs and he said ‘I know I can sell my dinosaur eggs’.

“He takes them to bed and sleeps with them so for him to say that struck me quite emotionally because he loves his dinosaur eggs. He is just a little sweetheart.”

The couple tried for 10 years to have a baby before eventually turning to NHS-funded IVF and then ICSI which allowed Amanda to fall pregnant with Max.

This time they will have to go privately, which costs around £7,000 in the UK, but after exhausting other money-making options including egg donation they are struggling to scrape together the cash.

The 34-year-old went on: “Max definitely wants a sibling. He says he wants an ‘Archie baby’ as his best friend is called Archie. It would complete our little unit.”

The toddler’s hand-painted creations went on sale for the first time just one week ago and already orders have come flooding in taking the family £100 closer to their target.

Amanda added: “It is lovely that people want to support us and if I saw it I would support someone else. I thought ‘Are we going to look like we are begging?’ but Max has worked really hard.

“He has a huge understanding now that you cannot just get something for free. If you want something you have to work hard for it and that is exactly what he is doing.”
