Plucky climbers scaled three historic heights of St Albans in their mission to complete the second yearly Three Towers Challenge last weekend.
As part of the St Albans Heritage Open Days 2018, 12 ballot winners scaled 800 steps up St Albans Clock Tower, St Peter’s Church tower, and St Albans Cathedral.
They were all awarded medals by the president of St Albans Civic Society, Geraint John, and president of the St Albans and Hertfordshire Architectural and Archaeological Society, Sandy Walkington.
One duo to brave the challenge was Charlie Askam and his son, Ed - who was celebrating his 13th birthday. He received a Clock Tower birthday card from the Three Towers Challenge team.
The event was organised by Jill Singer of the St Albans Civic Society and supported by St Albans Cathedral and St Peter’s Church.
