A diving club in St Albans is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a Hawaii Five-0 themed party.
St Albans Sub Aqua Club (SASAC) first formed in 1968, coincidentally the same year that American police procedural drama Hawaii Five-O first appeared on screens.
The party will be held at the clubhouse in Cottonmill Swimming Pool, Cottonmill Lane, from 6pm on Saturday, June 16.
Guests are asked to bring food to share and to come dressed in retro Hawaiian gear, such as luaus, grass skirts and Hawaiian shirts.
Simon New, from SASAC, said: “There’s lot of people who still live in the area who are past members who have stopped diving, and we are really keen to get them back for the celebration.
“We’ve got about 60 or 70 dive members, about 60 or so snorkel and underwater hockey members, and about 250 Cottonmill swim members. It’s one of St Albans’s best kept secrets.”
