ST ALBANS: Neighbours old and new will come together next Sunday, September 5, to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of a district street.

Eaton Road residents will commemorate the street’s centenary with a street party from 3pm and around 70 guests are expected.

Festivities will include live music, food and drink, as well as traditional childrens’ games such as hopscotch, apple bobbing and hula hooping.

Organiser Sally Routledge said the event would bring together many generations and give youngsters a chance to play games that older residents had once played on Eaton Road.

Past residents of the street have been sent invitations and households in Woodstock Road South, Salisbury Avenue, Burnham Road and Arthur Road have also been invited, as have the shopkeepers at Fleetville.
