Two men who were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) following a double stabbing in St Albans at the weekend have now been released from police custody.

Herts Police were called to Tanners Close, Oysterfields, shortly after 9pm on Sunday, July 17, following reports that two men had sustained serious injuries.

One man had stab wounds to his chest and abdomen, while the second victim had a chest injury.

Both were taken to St Mary’s Hospital in London. One of the injured men has since been released from hospital, while the other, who is in a stable condition, remains at St Mary’s.

A spokeswoman for the force said this afternoon (Tuesday) that two men arrested in connection with the assault - a 20 year old from Abbots Langley and a 47 year old man from Edgware - have been released on police bail.

She said they are due to return to Hatfield Remand Court on August 30, but have not been charged.

Meanwhile, forensic experts have completed their examination at the scene of the stabbings, which police described as a “domestic-related incident in Artisan Crescent”.

While the injured men were attacked in that location, they were found collapsed in nearby Tanners Close.
