THE woman stabbed in the city centre last week is now recovering at home.

The 44-year-old from St Albans has been released from hospital after she was stabbed several times in the attack in Alma Cut – a popular route with commuters – at around 11am on Monday night (Oct 4).

As revealed in last week’s Herts Advertiser, she sustained stab wounds to her face arms and legs and a man was arrested by police who recovered two knives from him shortly after the attack.

Shane Simmons, 18, from Artisan Crescent, has been charged with grievous bodily harm and two counts of possession of a blade, and has been remanded in custody.
