TWO shops were flooded in the early hours of this morning (Monday) after their sprinkler systems were accidentally activated.
Firefighters arrived at the shops in Christopher Place, St Albans, at around 2.30am to find the floors under nearly a foot of water.
The crews spent around an hour and a half pumping the water out of the premises.
It is thought that the sprinkler system was activated during work which was being carried out on a generator.
