St Albans schoolchildren vote to decide Christmas decoration colourscheme

Schoolchildren from St Albans are being asked to make crucial decisions about the city's festive decorations.

Five to 11-year-old pupils at The Abbey Primary School, Aboyne Lodge School and Alban City School will vote on the Christmas lights and bauble colourscheme for the next three years.

The results will be revealed at the annual switch-on event next Christmas.

It has been organised by St Albans BID (Business Improvement District).

BID manager Helen Burridge said: “We know that St Albans residents feel very strongly about how the city is represented at Christmas.

“We wanted to make sure that the final decision was fair and reflected the excellence, quality and heritage of our city.

“The children had a great time voting and we look forward to revealing the results at the Christmas Lights Switch-On in November!”
