A video explaining what he would say to the Prime Minister if he met him won a St Albans schoolboy the opportunity to do just that.
Alex Garcia Ghuran, 10, a Prep 6 student from St Columba’s College in King Harry Lane, was one of 10 winners of a competition organised by the children’s newspaper First News to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
Entrants had to submit a video explaining what they would say to the Prime Minister if they could meet him.
Alex’s video and nine other entries were selected from more than 900 participants. All winners were then invited to have a private VIP tour of 10 Downing Street and shake hands with David Cameron.
Alex describes his trip to Downing Street as a, “unique and exciting lifetime experience”.
He added: “It was such an amazing experience, I still can’t believe I met the Prime Minister at No 10 Downing Street.”
The children also got the opportunity to ask the Prime Minister questions about climate change, refugees, and education and their visit ended with Chancellor, George Osborne, posing for photographs outside Number 11.
