FOR a borderline large primary school, the team from St Adrian's made a huge splash when they took part in a swimming gala.
Not only did the team of Year Five and Year Six pupils win the boys freestyle medley, the girls medley relay, the overall boys and overall girls competitions but they were also overall winners of the St Albans large schools gala event held at the University of Herts pool in Hatfield.
Alex Ong won the individual boys breaststroke and he was part of the winning boys' freestyle relay team which also included Eoin Kellett, Joseph Hensman and Callum Keane.
The girls medley relay team which came joint first comprised Eva Mullins, Valentina Picciuto and Jessica Edwards.

St Adrian's is one of the smallest schools to quality for the large schools swimming category making their victory even sweeter.
The event marked the farewell of gala organiser Jane Flemming who is standing down after a number of years.
