A BUSY road into the city centre is closed today for emergency pothole repairs.
Herts Highways closed the stretch of Folly Lane in St Albans from Verulam Road to Normandy Road from 9.30am to 3.30pm while the work was carried out.
A county council spokesperson explained that Folly Lane was on the list for resurfacing in the summer and in the meantime potholes were being filled on an ad hoc basis.
He added: "The recent bad weather and cold has suddenly made it a lot worse which warranted an emergency repair job.
