A STRETCH of road near a St Albans secondary school has been closed due to subsidence.

The junction at Elm Drive and Oakwood Drive, which runs alongside Beaumont Secondary School, was closed at 9.30am this morning for repairs and will remain so for at least one or two days.

A signed diversion is in place along Elm Drive, Beechwood Avenue and Central Drive, and no bus services are affected.

Herts Highways has warned that the bend may be closed for a longer period, depending on the outcome of its investigations.
