A talented teen beat a path to success in a national competition for his drum and rhythm skills.
Fifteen-year-old St Albans School pupil Jeremiah Joshua Wallace was a thundering success against 250 of his peers to be named Young Drummer of the Year 2018 by Mikedolbear.com.
The ten finalists were given a five-piece kit, hi-hats, two crash cymbals and a ride cymbal to accompany their own kick pedals and drumsticks.
He performed a two-minute solo and two band pieces to an audience of 350 people and a panel of judges.
Jeremiah said: “Being a part of the Young Drummer of the Year competition really meant a lot to me as it is an event which I have worked really hard to be a part of and one that I have admired from a young age.
“I am honoured and proud to be the 2018 winner.”
Headteacher at St Albans School Jonathan Gillespie said it is tremendous achievement: “Jeremiah Joshua’s success is a great example of what dedication and hard work can achieve. We will all continue to watch his development as a musician with a keen interest.”
