Denim-dressed children at a local primary school have raised more than £800 as a result of what they were wearing.
Pupils at Skyswood Primary School, St Albans, enjoyed a range of activities during a Jean Jive for Genes day to raise money for the Jeans for Genes appeal.
On the day children took part in a sponsored dance-a-thon and donated loose change into a jean-shaped collection box.
Money donated was exchanged for craft materials, which they used to decorate denim.
Headteacher, Bob Bridle, said: “It was a magnificent effort from all of the children; they showed boundless enthusiasm in raising such a substantial sum for such a worthy cause.”
