Economic stability is a key reason to stay in the EU, according to a St Albans planning expert with nearly four decades’ experience in the development sector.
David Lane, principal of DLA Town Planning, Porters Wood, said he intended voting to remain in the European Union in today’s Referendum as “it equates to economic stability” which would also benefit this district in the long term.
The chartered town planner, who has worked in the public and private sectors, explained: “The benefits are access to a large market free of tariffs, the free movement of people and goods and cross-border cooperation on matters such as extradition.”
In relation to his area of expertise, David added, “The economic stability is good for the housebuilding industry and its customers.
“If we opt out, the economic uncertainty will impact on the industry, for example the Chancellor predicting an 18 per cent decline in house prices will impact on the new-build market.”
