A new visitor centre in a St Albans park has been officially unveiled.
St Albans mayor Rosemary Farmer cut the ribbon outside the new Highfield Park Visitor Centre on July 22.
The new hub was designed because there was no reception or welcome area for the park’s increasing number of visitors, but it will also serve as a venue for activities.
Building work on the new structure started in September last year.
Chair of the Highfield Park Trust, Tim Abbott, said: “It will allow us to do so much more and we are now really looking forward to making it work as we originally planned.
“Feedback from everybody has been incredible.
“The building has been very thoughtfully designed and I think it shows.”
The new Highfield Park Visitor Centre can be accessed from the Hill End Lane and Frobisher Road junction.
