A St Albans-based writing group is holding a showcase to celebrate its 65th anniversary.
Verulam Writers is inviting local authors to read from their work and meet other authors at the Oxfam Bookshop in Catherine Street on Friday, April 26.
Members of the public can chat with the writers during breaks, browse the bookshop and enjoy free refreshments.
Organiser Philip Mitchell said: “St Albans is full of great writers and we want to give them the opportunity to showcase their work to the public and raise some money for Oxfam at the same time. We're really excited to hear what people are writing about.”
Writers who wish to take part should email their work to firstname.lastname@example.org. Work can be fiction or non-fiction in any genre, and writers should aim to read no more than 1,500 words.
The event is free but donations are appreciated. Doors open at 7.30pm.
