A fun family event has been held to celebrate the completion of a new street art community mural in St Albans.

The mural was created by young people from Cunningham Hub youth café on the walls of the tunnel on the Alban Way under London Road. They took part in sessions led by a professional artist to help create the artwork.

The unveiling was marked by activities including play sessions, bike safety checks and a family bike ride.

Mayor of St Albans, Cllr Annie Brewster, who was at the celebrations, said: “The Alban Way is a deservedly popular route through and around St Albans and this mural now forms a beautifully imaginative part of it. What an excellent example of joint working with professional artists and keen young people.”
