The Prime Minister’s former deputy chief of staff at 10 Downing Street, who is now a politician, has been awarded a CBE in the dissolution honours list 2015.
St Albans based Oliver Dowden, MP for Hertsmere, has received the accolade for public service.
Mr Dowden said: “I am extremely honoured and humbled to receive this award. I am privileged to have had the opportunity to serve the Prime Minister, and now to serve the residents of Hertsmere as a Member of Parliament.”
The honour was announced today (Thursday) as David Cameron also revealed 45 new peers appointed to the House of Lords, including former foreign secretary William Hague.
