Visitors to a nursery’s Christmas display gave generously for a charity for young disabled people.
Aylett Nurseries on the A414 chose Whizz-Kidz as its Christmas charity for 2013 and during the seasonal period visitors and staff donated nearly £1,400 as a result.
Last Thursday, the Aylett team handed a cheque for £1,396.49 to Jessica Hiscocks, regional fundraiser for Whizz-Kidz which provides powered mobility equipment wheelchair skills training, youth clubs and work placements for the young disabled.
Thanking customers and staff for raising the sum, Jessica said the money could be used to pay for two children to complete a full course of wheelchair skills training, providing vital skills and confidence and enabling them to fully participate in school and play.
Alternatively, it could pay for a child to have its own trike to explore local parks and gardens.
Aylett director Julie Aylett said: “We are delighted to have raised a fantastic amount of money for a truly worthy cause and would like to thank our customers and staff for their generosity.”
