St Albans’ £7.75 million new museum has been shortlisted for a national construction award.
The St Albans Museums and Galleries Trust project to convert the former town hall, led by St Albans district council (SADC), is up for Project of the Year at the 10th annual Association of Project Safety (APS) Natonal Construction Design and Mangement (CDM) Awards.
It is up against three other plans in the same category.
SADC’s portfolio holder for commercial and development, Cllr Julian Daly, said the awards are established and highly regarded: “We have paid great attention to every detail and that includes achieving the highest possible health and safety standards so the public, our staff and our contractors have not been put at risk during the building work.”
The winner will be announced at London’s Gibson Hall on Thursday October 19.
