St Albans mum smashes London Marathon for PTA at daughter’s school

A St Albans mum was left aching but relieved after smashing the London Marathon 2019.
Kelly Durbridge took on the challenge to raise money for the Parent Teacher Association at her daughter's school, Bernards Heath.
The 46-year-old finished the 26.2mile race in four hours, 57 minutes and 43 seconds.
She said it was a great event: “I wasn't disappointed in that for my first ever marathon.

“I am relieved mainly, because it was really hard.
“I have done half marathons before and a 20 mile race, but it is so much harder than that.
“After you get over 18 to 20 miles it is so hard, but the crowds were amazing.”
She has already raised £2,300 for the PTA, which will use the money to ensure teaching and learning is engaging for every child at the school.
