A St Albans mum is running the London Marathon to raise funds for the Parent Teacher Association at her daughter’s school.

Kelly Durbridge, 46, will be raising money for Bernard's Heath School where her six-year-old, Constance, goes. She had already completed some half marathons and wanted to set herself a bigger challenge.

Kelly said she has trained hard for the day and is hoping to “get carried along by the atmosphere”.

The school are also having a non-uniform day on Friday, April, 26 and Kelly will be on the playground sporting her London Marathon vest. The mother-of-two said: “I am a bit nervous but mostly excited. I am going to enjoy the day. I'm going to supply my two kids with Jelly Babies to give out to the runners. I'm not expecting there to be any left for me.”

Kelly's son, Freddie, who attends Verulam, will be there with his sister cheering their mum on.
