A charity night aimed at improving the situation in Nepal following a major earthquake last April has raised £1,000 for relief efforts.
The Nepal Earthquake Recovery Fund (NERF) was founded in St Albans by like-minded individuals in the immediate aftermath of last year’s disaster, and runs awareness events across the UK which allow them to deliver real change in rural villages, working with local partners on community-based solutions.
The recent Night for Nepal was an evening of drinks, nibbles and stories organised by Melanie Evans and daughter Morgana at their family home to showcase NERF’s work in education while raising funds for school facilities and learning materials for children affected by the ‘quakes.
