The St Albans Memory Café has reached a regular attendance of 50, despite having only launched in May.
The café was set up to help people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, and has become popular with its neighbours.
Café organiser Fiona Harrall said: “We are thrilled with the response our memory café has received from the local community, every time we host the café there are more and more new faces.
“My hope is that the café creates the perfect opportunity for older people to socialise, have fun and meet new friends, whilst providing respite for family carers.
As well as café, Fiona owns a care company and is a dementia champion, making St Albans friendlier for people with the condition.
The café runs every second and fourth Wednesday of each month, at St Mary’s church in Marshalswick, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
