THREE wannabe chefs from a college in St Albans have won international catering awards for their food.
Adam Chamberlin, Rose White and Daniel Biggs, students in the hospitality and catering department at the Oaklands College Alban Park campus, were up against young chefs from across Europe at the Bournemouth International Hotel and Catering Show.
Adam's first-place chicken, Rose's third-place fish and Daniel's merited vegetables were judged to be some of the best food at the weekend, an achievement which Hospitality and Catering lecturer Paul Wood described as "phenomenal".
His colleague Rosemary Turley, Oaklands College hospitality and catering head of skills, added: "We have an exciting and growing provision at Oaklands and we aim to continue nurturing and developing catering talents such as Rose, Adam and Daniel.
