St Albans’ Marlborough School’s ‘M Festival’ beats the rain

HEAVY rain did nothing to quell the festival spirit at a school’s music event at the end of last month.

The Marlborough School M Festival saw over 600 pupils turn out to enjoy music from school bands as well as groups from the local area.

The eclectic mix of music performed by school bands, made up of students from year 8 through to the sixth form, ranged from Led Zeppelin to Beyonce.

Festival-goers were also able to enjoy a variety of workshops from Henna tattoos to Zumba sessions.

Richard Sullivan, who organised the event with a small group of staff and parents, said he was relieved that despite the weather the festival went ahead. He added: “Everyone had a great time and at the same time raised around 2,000 towards the school’s own broadcast system.”
