A St Albans man whose house was raided by the police last year has now been charged with 14 alleged firearms offences.
Alan Tissington, 49, of Windmill Avenue, was arrested on September 17 after a warrant was executed at his home.
A number of First and Second World War artefacts and munitions were seized during the Herts Police-led operation.
In a statement released today (Thursday) the police said that, after receiving advice from the Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Mr Tissington was yesterday charged with the following offences:
• Four counts of possession of a firearm without a certificate
• One count of possession of a shotgun without a certificate
• Two counts of possessing ammunition for a firearm without a certificate
• Seven counts of possession of prohibited ammunition
He has been bailed and is due to appear at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday August 4.
