A YOUNG man had his jaw broken when he was robbed as he walked home from the train station one night last week.

The 20 year old was walking along Lemsford Road in St Albans just after midnight on Wednesday (Nov 4) when two thieves stole his wallet, mobile phone and iPod.

He had become aware that he was being followed and one of the robbers overtook him before bending down to tie up his shoelaces. The man then asked the victim for a cigarette before punching him with such a force that he broke his jaw.

The second attacker demanded that he hand over his belongings before they both fled the scene and ran towards Hatfield Road and the train station.
