A 19-YEAR-OLD man from St Albans is among eight people arrested by Lancashire police in connection with a major investigation into stolen vehicles.

Herts police were involved in a joint operation with Greater Manchester police and intelligence units which led to the arrests early yesterday (Tuesday) morning.

Raids were made at addresses in Preston and Blackpool and the men were all arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to handle stolen goods, conspiracy to defraud and money laundering.

The investigation, codenamed Operation Flycatcher, has already highlighted 16 vehicles worth �126,000 which have been stolen across the North West between November 2007 and October 2008.
