A trio of lawyers saddled themselves with a 100-mile trip through London recently, up and down the Surrey Hills and back again to raise £4,000 for Peace Hospice Care.

Terence Ritchie, Simon Walsh and Richard Morgan from SA Law, St Albans, along with friend of the firm, Steve Brown, competed in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 just hours before pro-riders Sir Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish competed in the RideLondon-Surrey Classic.

Terence, whose father-in-law fell ill and was cared for by Peace Hospice Care (PHC), said: “My experience of PHC was limited to the personal experiences of colleagues and friends.

“It was only when my father-in-law was diagnosed with terminal cancer I experienced first-hand the care and support they offered.

“I was honoured to be taking part in a challenge to raise awareness and much needed funds for such a vital local charity that is so close to my heart.”

More than 25,000 cyclists took part in the weekend’s event, with Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, describing it as “the greatest mass-participation cycling event in the world”.

Peace Hospice Care’s fundraising manager, Vicky Luk, said: “It has been an exciting year working closely with SA Law as they celebrate their 10th anniversary.

“It’s been lovely to get to know members of the SA Law team. Our loyal corporate supporters mean everything to us and we simply couldn’t do what we do without their backing and involvement. What an amazing challenge to do in aid of the hospice.”
