A newly-named St Albans charity has won the backing of a social group for women which has raised thousands of pounds over the years.
St Albans Ladies’ Circle has chosen Bereavement Matters - formerly known as St Albans Bereavement Network - as its chosen charity for 2015/16.
Liisa Smith, community officer for the Ladies Circle, said, “We are delighted to be supporting this great local service which has helped so many people young and old who have suffered bereavement.
“We particularly value Bereavement Matters for the development of their onsite counselling services in local schools working with our young people”.
St Albans Ladies’ Circle, whose current chair is Emma Gamble, has helped to raise much-needed funds for a number of local charities over the years.
On November 11, they will be hosting their annual charity quiz and Thai Curry evening at The Goat Inn in Sopwell Lane in aid of Bereavement Matters.
