St Albans jobs are at risk after a major phone retailer went into administration.
Phones 4U entered administration on Sunday (14) and staff were called into stores today (Mon) to discuss their future.
The nationwide company employs more than 5,500 people, and has 720 outlets across the UK.
This includes the store on 37 Market Place, which has a team of staff who face losing their jobs.
The crisis follows news that Phones 4U’s last remaining operator, EE, was cutting ties with the company following the breakaway of O2 and Vodafone earlier this year.
Stores will remain closed pending a decision by the administrators on whether they can be reopened for trading.
