THEIR best-ever examination results at A-level have been notched up at students of St Albans High School for Girls.

The independent school achieved a 100 per cent pass rate, of which 90 per cent of all grades were at A or B and 72.8 per cent at grade A. Thirty six girls (46 per cent) achieved straight As in all their subjects.

Head Rosemary Martin expressed her delight at the success of her students: "The girls, with the support of their teachers, have worked incredibly hard to produce such impressive results and it is wonderful that their talent and commitment have been recognised in this way."

The results at AS level were equally impressive with over 90 per cent of all grades at C or above.
