FIRECREWS were called to tackle a kitchen fire at a house in St Albans on Saturday evening.
Two appliances attended the address in Cunningham Avenue, shortly before 5.30pm, after receiving reports of smoke coming from the property.
On arrival they found a fire in the kitchen.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze, whilst a search team checked the property to make sure no one was inside.
The flames were extinguished by 6.10pm and an investigation is to be carried out to establish how the fire started.
