A BIRD-BRAINED pigeon which found itself stuck in a St Albans chimney was rescued by firefighters yesterday evening.
St Albans firefighters were called to Nightingale Lane at around 7.50pm last night to rescue the pigeon, which was wedged half way down the chimney.
Using rods to mimic a chimney sweep, the firefighters managed to dislodge the pigeon which fell down the shoot and into the hands of one of the firemen.
The pigeon, who escaped the trauma unharmed, was then released outside.
