A TV show featuring a popular cooking duo will air tonight (Wednesday) featuring some familiar spots from the district.
David Myers and Si King, also known as the ‘Hairy Bikers’, visited St Albans last year to film part of their new TV series ‘The Hairy Bikers’ Pubs That Built Britain’.
They filmed around the Clock Tower and inside The Boot pub for the ‘Home Counties’ episode, which airs tonight on BBC TWO at 6.30pm.
The show description reads: “From drinking medieval ale in the ancient town of St Albans to morris dancing in the oldest free-house in Britain, Si and Dave embark on a historic pub crawl to discover how Britain’s inns and taverns witnessed the beginning, end and intervening years in the Wars of the Roses.”
