Tickets for the coveted cathedral catwalk go on sale tomorrow (Friday) as part of the fourth St Albans Fashion Week (SAFW).
The iconic event will be making an appearance on the Thursday and Friday of the six-day event, which runs from the October 24-30.
The show, which features the UK’s longest indoor catwalk, is following on from last year with two events put on by popular demand.
Ellena Ophira, director of SAFW, said: “It’s by far the highlight of the week, so we really wanted to offer two shows again this year.
“We’re adding more exciting elements to the production this year, so they’ll be some special surprises on the night making it the best show yet.”
A host of independent and high street stores from across Hertfordshire will take part with 10 models for each establishment.
Local shops taking part include D. Copperfield, Earley’s and The Dressing Room.
Canon Richard Watson, sub dean at St Albans Cathedral, said of the 2015 show: “The Nave lends itself to the catwalk perfectly, and the show’s vibrant, professional style makes for a great atmosphere in such a spectacular and prestigious setting.”
Returning this year will be the ‘Trend Show Finale’, where each retailer will be able to offer up one final look that ticks the box of one of this season’s trends.
This comes alongside the Bridal Sequence, which is also making a return this year. Vicky Taylor, event director at SAFW, said: “It’s one of my favourite parts of the show. The mood in the Nave really chances at this point, we bring the lights down, the music is much softer and it’s quite a special moment where everyone sits there mesmerised by the romance of it all.”
The big production requires more than 100 volunteers. Anyone looking to help should get in touch via the SAFW website.
Last year tickets sold out in three days. Tickets from £18.50 rising to £35, for this year’s event go on sale tomorrow at 5pm.
They can be purchased directly from the cathedral’s box office and online 24 hours a day here.
