THE family of Alan Spray are organising a search on Sunday to help find the pensioner, who has been missing for almost two weeks.

Alan, who has Alzheimer’s, went missing from Verulam House nursing home, on Verulam Road, on Saturday July 30.

The 73-year-old was last seen on CCTV, at 8.10pm, walking past the Total garage, away from the city centre.

Members of Alan’s family will be meeting at McDonalds car park, on the retail site at the bottom of Holywell Hill, on Sunday, at 11am, to search for him.

Gemma White, partner of Alan’s oldest son Chris, said: “Please ask as many people as you can to come along for whatever time they can; the more people involved, the more ground we can cover and the more chance we have of finding him.

“It’d be great to see as many people there as possible, ever if you can’t make 11am, you could join the search later in the day.”

Police have been conducting an extensive search for Alan, who is from Hatfield, but have scaled down their operation.

Alan is described as white, approximately 5ft 9ins tall, is balding on top with grey hair to the side and wears light reactive glasses. He was described as wearing a brown and blue checked, short sleeve shirt and brown/grey trousers. He may be carrying a book.

Anyone with information should contact police immediately via the non-emergency number 101.
