St Albans went up in smoke – and spectacular colour – when the Abbey held its annual firework display in Verulamium Park on Saturday.
Thousands of people went along to watch the 25-minute display which the Abbey has held for more than 25 years. Organised by a team of volunteers, it has raised over £500,000 for local and national charities in the process.
This year’s main charity is the Alzheimer’s Society.
Although the weather did not prevent the display going ahead, some fireworks veered off in the direction of the high winds.
