Elderly people learnt how to make beautiful bouquets of flowers in a floristry workshop at a St Albans care home.

A mother and daughter duo from Perfect Moment Florists, Cindy and Samantha Jackson, taught the residents at Eleanor House on London Road to arrange flowers.

One of the attendees won two tickets to RHS Wisley’s Butterflies in the Glasshouse for her creation.

Estates manager at Eleanor House, Tracey Muponda, said: “With the dark days of winter behind us, it was wonderful to get everyone at Eleanor House together for a very spring-like celebration – and a reminder that the gardens here will soon be busting full off buds, blossoms and blooms.

“We certainly have a lot of talented homeowners here – and the many green-fingered retirees at Eleanor House made the most of the opportunity to learn a new skill in floristry just in time for spring.”
